WHAT  ?

Following a 'slow journey' made at the beginning of 2023  in Sri Lanka, with many hikes in the heart of the tea plantations (see the PEKOE TRAIL), we were struck by the CIRCLE OF POVERTY in which the families of tea pickers and their children are anchored. (read article)

We have since contacted TEA LEAF TRUST (see video) an NGO that does things directly related to what AWNB.ORG is about. Quickly, following the first exchanges with its co-founder,Tim PARE, we 'connected' on several topics.

*** ALL THIS IS EXPLORATORY FOR THE MOMENT, AND IN ANY CASE, IT MOTIVATES US DEEPLY!! ***

​

For young people  19/26 years old 

  • develop entrepreneurship spirit (leanstartup, business model canvas, design thinking, product mgt, ...)

  • offer "vocational training" type programs to boost their self-confidence (given their living conditions, there are a lot of psychological / mental health issues up to  suicides)

  • set up a "coding school" :  there is great hope of developing local tech

  • raise funds to fulfill the big demand on the spot. Currently, TLT has 1 main center, 4 rural satellite centers. TLT aims to open 5 new centers: need for financial and material means (laptop, ....)

For young girls/women

  • "Women's empowerment" program

  • other topics to dig into

​

For NGO members
​

  • develop the leadership of current managers: empowerment, autonomy, team management (MGT3.0, HOST LEADERSHIP, SOLUTION FOCUS)

  • strengthen the skills of local teachers (reversed pedagogy, dialogic classroom, etc.)

NEXT? 

  • Mid May, continuation of our TEA LEAF / AWNB.ORG exchanges

  • September 2023: exploratory trip on site, potentially with first on-site training

  • January / February 2024: possibility of returning on site

  • In parallel: 

    • awakening of the agile community for help: conferences, videos, ...

    • consolidation of AWNB.ORG (bank account, receipt of donations (via HelloAsso?), ability to issue tax receipts (request for tax ruling in progress)

    • find partnerships (see below)

HOW TO JOIN THE ADVENTURE? 


Many of you contact us for help. Patience because we need to consolidate ourselves a minimum. However here are some leads: 
​

For AWNB.ORG (so as not to explode in flight;)

  • any NGO experience

  • a treasurer to ensure we are doing the right things + communicate transparently on the use of funds / donations received,

  • someone to manage registrations, communication,

  • partnership relationship for equipment, books,  airlines to sponsor the plane tickets of those who want to go help there,

For the CODING SCHOOL

  • business model ideas ?

  •  online training solutions, Ecole42 style? 

  • trainers to accompany the beginnings on site?

  • equipment ?

​

For TRAINING

  • We will already recycle the contents of RUPTURE(21  since AWNBORG is its extension.

  • Needs to be consolidated according to exploratory trips (need for temporary trainers / mentors, need for guides in English, ...)

​

For FUNDRAISING:

  • donations / subscriptions

  • sale of books (RUPTURE DOUCE, SUPER PRACTICAL GUIDES)

  • corporate conferences

  • trainings, 

  • etc ...
